Student Protocol & Practice Conduct

This protocol exists to preserve the clarity, containment, and calmness required for traditional Ashtanga Yoga. The aim is to create a space where students can focus deeply, where the teacher can teach with precision, and where every practitioner feels held within a clean and stable space.

These guidelines are not meant to create distance—they are meant to create clarity, safety, and a focused practice space.

May we always be well.

Arrival & Room / Session Entry

The practice space opens exactly at class start unless otherwise stated.

Students may connect a little early if they need, and start practicing in complete silence. If you arrive early, practice quietly and wait for instruction.

Please, refrain from chit-chat or personal conversations at the beginning of class. This respects other practitioners in the session and preserves the introspective energy of the group.

During Practice

  • All verbal communication must be kept to a reasonable minimum and directly related to the moment of practice.
  • Please avoid long explanations, storytelling, or emotional intensity during class.
  • If you have a practice related question, you can ask briefly and clearly. The teacher will offer the next step.
  • Respect the silence of others: no unnecessary noise, comments, or interactions.

Chit-Chat & Conversation

To preserve the clarity and neutrality of the space:

  • Avoid conversations unrelated to practice before, during, or after class.
  • Understand that the teacher cannot make space for personal stories or emotional processing during teaching hours.
  • All personal or extended questions must be sent via email, or asked during our Monthly Q&A. If something arises in practice, you can note it down and bring it to the proper channel.

Questions & Communications Channels

To keep communication clean and respectful of everyone’s time:

  • Practice-related questions → kept brief and asked during class when necessary.
  • All other questions → please, send them by email.
  • Monthly Q&A → this is the correct place to share reflections, personal process, or bigger questions about life, practice, or the method.

This structure ensures that all practitioners receive equal attention and that the teaching space remains focused.

Energy & Conduct

This is a dedicated practice space. To maintain the integrity of the room.

  • Silence your microphone when you join class. Move slowly and with awareness. Respect the collective silence.
  • Avoid bringing emotional intensity, drama, or disruptiveness into the space.
  • If you feel unsettled, stay inward and continue breathing—this is part of practice.

When you finish your practice

After closing, please leave the practice space quietly.

If you have questions, send them by email. The teacher may not always be available to speak after class.

Save reflections, insights, or deeper inquiries for the monthly Q&A.

Community & Ethics

  • Respect fellow practitioners’ privacy.
  • Avoid comparing your practice with others.
  • Refrain from offering unsolicited advice or feedback.
  • Honour your own capacity and respect your boundaries.
