A stronger, clearer, and more sustainable Ashtanga Yoga practice.

Refinement is individual educational work designed to help you understand, organise, and strengthen your practice.
It is not a private yoga class.
Instead of simply taking you through a full practice, we work on the areas that will have the greatest impact on your understanding, your confidence, and your long-term progress.
Each session complements your regular practice – rather than replacing it.
Whether you practise independently, attend regular Mysore classes, or work with another teacher, Refinement helps you integrate what you are already doing in a more intelligent, sustainable way.
The aim is not to simply improve individual postures. It is to help you build a practice that continues to evolve with you.
Refinement is application-based to ensure this way of working is relevant for your current stage of practice. If you feel this approach resonates with you, I’ll love to learn more about your practice.
Who is Refinement for?
Refinement is designed for committed practitioners who want to move beyond simply doing more.
It may be a good fit if you:
- want greater clarity in your yoga practice
- feel your practice has become long or difficult to sustain
- want to organise your practice week more intelligently
- are working with recurring injuries or physical limitations
- want to build strength and confidence
- feel stuck in particular postures or transitions
- want to refine your technique rather than simply learn more postures
- are beginning Intermediate or Advanced A Series and want to integrate them gradually
- want your practice to remain meaningful while fitting into the realities of work, family, and everyday life
Many practitioners don’t need more information. They need a clearer way of working with what they already know.
How we work
Every Refinement Sessions begins with a conversation.
We look at where you are in your practice, what you’re currently working on and what would make the greatest difference right now.
Rather than trying to address everything at once, we focus on one area that creates the greatest impact.
Depending on your needs, we might explore:
- organising your practice week
- strength development
- recovery
- backbending
- challenging postures
- integrating new series
- transitions
- technique and movement quality
- practice strategy
Each session finishes with practical steps that you can immediately integrate into your regular practice.
Over several sessions, these small refinements build into meaningful, long-term progress.
What makes refinement different?
Refinement is not a private class where you complete your full practice, and it is not simply being observed while you practice.
Instead, it is a complete educational process.
Together, we assess your practice, identify priorities, explore them in depth and integrate the work into your daily practice.
The focus is always on developing your own understanding. Because lasting progress comes from clarity around what you’re doing, and why.
