A practical workshop exploring how strength is developed throughout practice, from the first Surya Namaskar to deeper Backbending work.
Instead of learning isolated techniques, in this workshop I will teach you about where strength actually begins.
Many practitioners think of strength as something separate from yoga. In reality, the foundations of strength are established through the quality of attention, organisation and movement patterns established from the very beginning of practice.
In this workshop, we will explore why the first fifteen minutes of practice matter, how strength is developed through seemingly simple actions, and how these principles support more demanding aspects of practise, including full-body backbends.
Together we will look at:
- The hidden role of strength in Surya Namaskar
- Common habits that limit progress
- How strength supports stability, longevity, and confidence
- The relationship between structure and backbending
- Full-body approaches to backbends – rather than isolated techniques
The workshop will conclude with a live Q&A, offering participants the opportunity to clarify concepts and explore how these principles may apply to their own practice.

You’re welcome to register and watch the recording within the five-day access period, although attending live is recommended so you can engage further with the material and you can participate in the Q&A.

After that, bookings become non-refundable because your place has been reserved and the recording is included.
